This recognition reflects a deliberate multi-stage selection process within American Society for Engineering Education , an organization comprising over 50 divisions that represent professional interest groups across the engineering education community. Our paper was ultimately selected as the 2025 Best Conference Paper from 2,460 papers accepted to the ASEE Annual Conference:
✅ Selected as the Best Paper from 21 submissions in the Two-Year College Division
✅ Chosen among 11 division best papers by the PIC IV reviewers
✅ Named the overall Best Conference Paper from the final 5 papers reviewed by the PIC Chairs
🏆 This is the third time our group has earned a division-level Best Paper award and the 🏆 second time receiving a PIC-level recognition.
* 🥇 This is the first paper from TYCD to be recognized as best PIC paper and the best Conference paper.
We’re deeply thankful for:
🔵 The engineering transfer students who generously shared their time, insights, and experiences as part of our mixed-methods study. This work would not have been possible without you.
🔵 The funding was provided by the UF School of Human Development and Organizational Studies in Education (HDOSE) for providing seed funding that made this pilot study possible.
🔵 The support of the ASEE reviewers for their time and feedback.
🔵 & the PI’s National Science Foundation (NSF) RIEF mentor, Dr. Idalis Villanueva Alarcón, for the many scholarly conversations on methods.
🔵 To all educators, advisors, and administrators who contribute to the success of engineering transfer students!
