We are so excited to have Caroline Lubbe as part of the new ECoPaR Engineering Education Research Group. Carolina is a chemical engineering senior studying at the University of Notre Deme, Indiana.
Caroline comes to our research group with previous experience in engineering education. She is the co-author of a paper presented at the ASEE 2021 Annual Conference, “The Benefits of an Engineering Field Trip for Women Students,” published in July 2021. She worked under the guidance of Dr. Victoria Goodrich and Dr. Kerry Meyers, professors at Notre Dame.
During her chemical engineering degree, Caroline enriched her training by taking many humanities courses and becoming a tutor. She envisions herself as a teaching faulty that will make sure to be the best educator to see her students succeed. I can’t wait for what her future awaits!
What is an REU?
Caroline is part of the Summer 2022 Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) at The Department of Chemical Engineering and supported by the National Science Foundation. REU students benefit from conducting research on a broad range of topics relevant to chemical engineering in a diverse and inclusive environment. Formal and informal education activities train REU students on what research is, how it is correctly and responsibly carried out, and how and why it is disseminated.
